Marvelous works of creativity and skill are on display in Breckenridge through February 7th as the International Snow Sculpture Championship enters its second week. Watching solid blocks of snow transform into magnificent carvings was a delight last week, and visitors this week can admire the finished works of art. First place winner Team Vermont created “Rhonda and her Recycling Robo-Octopus,”
Of course home town Team Breckenridge seemed to be winning the People’s Choice award, based on number of dollar bills in their voting container. Their “Widow Maker” sculpture recalls the damage to the miner’s health caused by the introduction of the pneumatic drill to mining.
