With all the gorgeous scenery and wildlife in Colorado, a little planning makes all the difference in the quality of your visit. Animals are most often seen in the early morning or late evenings, but on cold wintery days, they may be found at lower altitudes trying to warm up.
The view from the Front Range is of course best seen in the morning hours when the rising sun casts the mountains in a pink blue pastel, slowly turning to a golden hue as the sun rises.
Driving back from the Western Slope to the Front Range, there are breathtaking views at all times of day, but especially in the late afternoon, when the peaks light up as dusk settles in below.
